My Invitation to YOU:

Thank you for choosing me to help you Move Better & Hurt Less. If you are like most of my patients, what brings them in initially is an issue that is hurting or causing pain and getting in the way of life and what they love doing. We will rapidly relieve your pain so you can begin to move better and hurt less. This should only take a few sessions. After that, I want to invite you into a learning process that will help you go from feeling controlled by your body to in control of your body.

From the start, I want to teach you how to be more aware of your body, how it moves and how it should feel. This awareness will allow YOU to FIND what needs to be fixed. Once YOU KNOW what to fix, I can teach you techniques to fix yourself. WHAT?!? Yes…FIX YOURSELF. If I Can Fix Myself…Seriously, You Can Too! I have taught thousands of patients how to fix themselves. If this is something you are interested in, then you can too. If not, no worries, I am happy to fix you and send you on your merry way. You can return for me to do it again as needed. Either way, there is a path and plan of action that will be just right for you. Just let me know which direction you would like to take so we can plan accordingly.

I primary use a combination of Active Release, Percussive Therapy, Dry Needling, and Laser Therapy. Percussive I also layer in Assisted Athletic Stretching, Trigger Point Release, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization and Low-Force Joint Mobilization or Manipulation. I will not use all of them every session but rather pull out the tool/technique needed to get the job done for that session.

Progress, not Perfection…achieving perfection is unrealistic, but making progress towards moving better and hurting less is very realistic. “Pain is Inevitable, Suffering is Optional, “ said someone some time. It may be unrealistic to eliminate all of your issues but you will be amazed at how much we can accomplish. I am here to help you Move Better & Hurt Less! Let's get going.

Now the Not-So-Fun Stuff:

Here comes the legal stuff. Let’s get through this quickly so we can move to the More-Fun Stuff.

My Insurance Policy

I no longer bill or give any paperwork for insurance reimbursement. We can have a cordial conversation over coffee if you are fascinated to find out why I exited the managed healthcare mess in 2017. Bet you can guess why. ;-)

My Financial Policy

I require a credit card to secure an appointment on Square. You can choose to pay with an HSA debit card or major credit card. I also do all my billing through Square. You will receive an emailed receipt but it won’t have anything on it to justify reimbursement through an insurance company. All credit card information is encrypted to the point that I can only see the last four and expiration date of your card.

My HIPAA Status

HIPAA is a federal mandate to protect your healthcare information when being transmitted to an insurance company or third party payer. Since I do not communicate with either of these, I am not required to be HIPAA compliant. I do almost all of my communication and coordination with you via text, email or mobile phone calls. I will also coordinate with your trainer, therapist or another provider based on your approval. A verbal or digital “OK” is all I need to connect with them about what is going on, what I recommend or suggest.

Your Informed Consent for Evaluation & Therapy

Every health care specialty has risks associated with the meds, therapies, tools, and techniques of the trade. It is your right to know what risks are associated with the specific techniques and therapies I use in my practice. Even though the risk is extremely low with all of the tools and techniques I use, I am still required by law to inform you. I am going combine all of the risks together for the techniques I combine and use in the Evaluation and Therapy Session with me such as Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Active Release Techniques (ART), Assisted Isolated Stretching (AIS), Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), Trigger Point Therapy, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), Integrative Dry Needling (IDN), Physical Therapy Based Low-Force Joint Mobilization, Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT), Chiropractic Manipulative Therapy (CMT) and/or Mobility and Stability Corrective Exercises (COREX). Please feel free to Google or ask me any questions or concerns from these techniques.

Here is the list of possible but rare side effects and risks associated with the above therapies: Feeling sore, achy, tired, stiff, burning, tingling and/or bruising after therapy. These typically dissipate within 24-48 hrs. Feeling worse or being in more pain after therapy. This is a warning sign that we are headed in the wrong direction and you need imaging and medical or surgical consult for your condition. It is rare but possible that you could sustain a ligament, tendon or muscle tear from therapy. Very rare risk factors are a fracture, disc injury, stroke or paralyzation. The research show these rare risks are as likely as being struck by lightning in your lifetime: 1 in 10,000,000.  You still deserve to know and make an informed consent.

Please, PLEASE, Speak Your Voice!

Proceed with the type of care as you feel comfortable with.  Please speak your voice when you do not want or do not care for a certain type of therapy. Feel free to stop me at anytime and let me know if you are uncomfortable with something OR if you feel like we are headed in the wrong direction.  Please peak up and let me know your wishes, desires, fears, and concerns.  You sometimes know your body better than I do.  I am so willing to listen, hear you out, modify care, redirect or proceed accordingly. I’ve been doing this stuff for 20 years and want to do it for another 20, so let’s work together to provide one of the best health care experience you have ever received. That's seriously my hope and prayer for you!
